The Studio

Monet Studios is a Los Angeles-based acting studio run by professional film & TV actors.  Our small team of coaches hails from the Ivy League, have served as faculty at those very same universities, and have acted with & for luminaries including Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise. We offer training to actors across film, television and online – and we adapt the performance and technique to each medium.

Our approach explicitly addresses the 2-part process of developing your skills for the camera as well as the preparation work of auditioning in order to secure the role.

Our focus is on the film & television industry specific to Hollywood and provide in-studio, on-set and online classes (via Zoom).

The Technique

Our technique revolves around the actor’s individual process. This means, in a very real way, start with the actor… not the material. Who is the person who will don this character and who will speak the speech. An actor must understand themselves, who they are as they interact in their world. And use that relationship, that dynamic to bring life to the character they play.

This can be especially challenging for actors coming from no background or a theatre background – film and television are up close and personal. If you’ve worked on set, you know this is a literal comment, not figurative. The camera is inches from your face and knows when you are lying. So don’t. Instead, be you in the role of your character. Craft the work, yes. But craft the work based on who the actor is in addition to who the character is.

The Founder

Camillia Monet is an American actor, film producer and acting coach. She began her career appearing in… <insert boilerplate biography here>. Speaking plainly…

I’ve been fortunate to have a career that has spanned New York theatre, acting in Hollywood on big and small screens, and producing with some great and talented people, and even writing and developing occasionally. No matter how varied my career has been, I can never get away from that little 6 year old girl in Philly who memorized lines from TV and then would act out the scene with my mom (not exactly a willing participant all the time!).

Acting has been my life. Entertainment has been the vehicle. My sincere love of the craft I hope to be able to impart to my clientele through taking the learnings from my career and my education and sharing it. I’m very fortunate for the path that I’ve had, and may I be able to provide some of that to those around me.
